I think I got this with a gift card at Barnes and Noble or the Changing Hands bookstore.

Harry Shum Jr. who played Magnus Bane on the 2016 Shadowhunters TV show. I found this picture on the internet.

I was scared when I first heard this instrument LOL XD

“Catarina contributed, ‘The dance is a beautiful, traditional dance called El Alcatraz, and I thought Magnus performed it—’

‘Brilliantly,’ Magnus suggested. ‘Dashingly? Devastatingly attractively? Nimbly?’

Catarina pursed her lips in thought before selecting the appropriate word. ‘Spectacularly.’

Magnus pointed at her. ‘That’s why you’re my favorite.’

‘And traditionally the man gyrates—’

‘You did gyrate spectacularly,’ Ragnor observed in a sour voice.

Magnus made a little bow. ‘Why, thank you’” (33).

It’s so cool to imagine Magnus dancing like this!

“Magnus had acted like a child, fancying there were shapes and stories to be made of the clouds in the sky” (186).

“It was only because Magnus had seen where the vampire was looking and because he knew how Raphael felt, the exact exquisitely cold feeling of being an outcast, so alone that he barely seemed to exist, that he moved fast enough” (267).

“Playing his role as Raphael’s benefactor and teacher, Magnus hugged Raphael too. As prickly as he was, Raphael did not invite embraces. Magnus had not been so close to him since the day he’d fought to stop Raphael from going into the sun. Raphael’s back felt thin under Magnus’s hands—fragile, though he was not.

‘I owe you, warlock,’ Raphael said, a cool whisper against Magnus’s ear. ‘I promise you I won’t forget.’ 

‘Don’t be ridiculous,’ said Magnus, and then because he could get away with it, when he drew back, he ruffled Raphael’s curly hair. The indignant look on Raphael’s face was hilarious” (294).

Lol I loved when Magnus ruffles Raphael's hair just because he could XD

“Every time Alec had dropped by—or in the mornings after Alec had fallen asleep there—Magnus had woken to the sounds and smells of Alec’s making him coffee, even though Alec knew that Magnus could magic coffee out of the air. Alec had done it only a few times, had been there for only a handful of mornings. It was not something Magnus should be getting used to” (353).

“Against his will, Magnus found a smile curving his lips as he rummaged around for his big blue coffee cup that said BETTER THAN GANDALF across the front in sparkly letters” (354).
