I first got this book as a Summer Reading prize. I chose this book because it was the best one out of their selection. I am really loving this so far. I am loving it so much, in fact, that I might put this one on my favorites shelf when I’m done. The prize was for the Summer of 2024! I will link the blog post here: https://denisesreadingweblog.blogspot.com/2024/09/2023-summer-reading-prizes.html
* I paused my reading of this book to start another. I love that I am going to finish this book in December because this book takes place in December!
“It’s a comforting thought and I let myself be comforted” (354).
* The part in chapter 34 towards the end where Johnathon and Sam are in the graveyard together made me teary-eyed. I think Sam really needed a hug and Johnathon Fucking Forest was there to oblige.
* In the epilogue I loved the part where their family’s joke is to say to take care of Johnathon when Sam is leaving somewhere. I thought that was so sweet.
* I would gladly read a sequel!
* I also really loved the narrator of this audiobook! He was sooo good!
